📝 Detailed Description

🚐 We meet at the designated location, where you board the bus with your bicycle (electric bike rental available upon request) and head to Târgu Lăpuș in the Lăpuș Land – Maramureș, the starting point of our cyclotourism adventure.

🌄 We ascend to the Prelucilor Plateau, discovering a rural area frozen in time. The villages here are scattered, and people live according to unwritten rules, practicing agriculture and animal husbandry. The landscapes are unique, and we will make plenty of stops for photos. We have plenty of time to enjoy the surroundings! In the afternoon, we reach Preluca Nouă, where we stay in a traditional wooden house built in 1886. We will enjoy the hospitality of the Maramureș locals and head to "Apus peste Maramu – Glamping" in Preluca Nouă, where we will spend the night in luxury double tents surrounded by nature. The sunset will catch us during dinner, with Tuța and Adi, over a glass of plum brandy and a chat. Another great day of adventures!

🌅 On the second day, after breakfast, we start cycling through majestic beech and fir forests. We reach Șurdești, home to the tallest wooden church in the world, "Saint Archangels Michael and Gabriel" (UNESCO World Heritage). We will ascend the Gutâi Mountains, enjoying the beautiful views, and stop in Budești to visit another UNESCO wooden church and attend a demonstration by a local craftsman. We stay in Budești and enjoy a well-deserved dinner.

🚴‍♂️ On the third day, we head to the Cosău Valley, with a stop in Sârbi village, where we visit ancient industrial installations: mills, presses, and fulling mills. We will enjoy the views of the Cosău and Iza Valleys. After a visit to Bârsana Monastery, we will reach Poienile Izei, where we will stay in a traditional guesthouse and enjoy an authentic dinner.

On the final day, after breakfast, we will visit the UNESCO wooden church in Poienile Izei and continue our journey through the Botiza Pass back to the Lăpuș area.

✨ The wooden gates in Rogoz are beautiful, engraved with traditional motifs, some pre-Christian. We will visit the living ethnographic museum in Rogoz, where local women preserve the tradition of crafting shirts. After meeting them, we will understand the meaning of the Romanian proverb: "Man sanctifies the place!"

🚴‍♂️ We return to the starting point of our journey... But questions will linger in your mind: Which was the most picturesque area we cycled through? The Prelucilor Plateau or the Maramureș Depression with haystacks dotting the hills? Which was the most charming village: Slătioara, Poienile Izei, or the isolated Preluca Nouă? And what was the most delicious dish: polenta with cheese, roasted bacon, or maybe the pear or plum brandy?
